Anna-Marie Kingsley (born 1969, Whitianga) is a self-taught artist who has been painting professionally since 2006. She features in Denis Robinson’s book New Zealand’s Favourite Artists vol 2.
She has had solo exhibitions at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wellington and at Aratoi and won multiple art awards around New Zealand.
Painting almost exclusively still life, Anna-Marie’s artwork explores the anthropomorphic personification of utilitarian household objects.
Anna-Marie has been creating cement sculptures for several years; the cat series is a favourite and will be for sale at the Wairarapa Art Trail at Hattenburn Gardens
A founding Trustee of Wai Art, and manager of the Wai Art Show for fifteen years, Anna-Marie believes very much in supporting other artists.
As well as painting, and cement sculpture, Anna-Marie and her husband Malcolm Batchelor have developed Hattenburn Gardens, open to the public for visiting, on a 60-acre lifestyle block 6km west of Carterton.
