DATE: Saturday, 27 September & Sunday, 28 September
TIME: 10am-4pm
LOCATION: 26 Wakelin St, Carterton (studio entrance on Fairbrother St)
MEDIUM: Figurative/Abstract Painter

Adrian sees the artist’s role as one to make sense of their surroundings, navigating through new technological or environmental systems to suggest a new psychological space, much like we do in a cinematic world. His paintings are collaged from a broad range of found images, often zooming into isolated spaces or layers of collected objects that are melded with technology. He focuses on discovering new painterly narratives, while hinting at ideas of ‘glitch aesthetics’ and ‘digital disruption’.

Adrian Jackman was born in 1971 in Te Kopuru, (Waitaha iwi, Bay of Plenty ) and currently lives and works in Carterton, South Wairarapa. He graduated with a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from the Elam School of Fine Arts, Auckland University in 1997. He received the Joe Raynes Masters Scholarship from Auckland University in 1996, as well as the Senior Prize in Fine Arts, University of Auckland, 1993.

Adrian’s paintings are held in public, private and corporate collections across New Zealand and overseas, including: – The Arts House Trust, The Sarjeant Gallery, Te Whare o Rehua Whanganui, Citibank Art Collection and Perpetual Guardian Trust.
