Step back in time with Greytown Through the Ages, a unique, immersive event where visitors can explore the town’s rich history simply by strolling along its charming Main Street and local shops. Participating businesses throughout Greytown will display historical photographs — some dating back as far as the 1850s.

Wander into cafés, boutiques and eateries to discover black-and-white snapshots of rarely seen archival images showing what Greytown once looked like. From dusty horse-drawn streets to early main street storefronts of eras gone by, each location offers a different window into the past.

Many photographs will be matched with the current buildings so visitors can compare then and now, sparking conversations and nostalgia and soak in the legacy of one of New Zealand’s most historic towns.
