Born in Manchester, England, it’s hardly surprising Jo Constable has a love for all things industrial as well as typography and graphic design. She loves breaking rules, thinking outside the creative box and extending herself creatively. Her first love, however, is printmaking.
Jo enjoys experimenting with different printmaking techniques such as stencilling, collagraphy and her own ‘made-up’ etching process. She likes to combine old and new processes to produce unexpected outcomes. At times she uses her own photographic imagery of derelict buildings, transforming them into stunning textured prints or uses them on furniture.
Jo has worked in her own graphic design business since 1997 during which time she has worked with a multitude of industries. She also runs occasional classes and works in collaboration with her creative sister — a book artist in Auckland, they have published several books and a magazine together.
