Born in rural New Zealand, I have been creating art throughout my life and have exhibited widely across the Wairarapa.
My work is grounded in mixed media, often combining ink, handmade paper, encaustic, fibre, and natural materials such as leaves and found objects. Inspired by the natural world, my art reflects a deep appreciation for the beauty found in imperfection and the often-overlooked details of everyday life.
The process itself is integral to my practice—marking the passage of time through rituals of making: drawing, cutting, collecting. These gestures become part of the narrative within each piece. Found fragments are inked, dyed, painted, and layered, allowing the work to evolve organically. I don’t design my pieces in a traditional sense; rather, they shift and transform as I respond reflectively to the materials until the final mark is made.
I aim to create works that appeal to the sense of touch—pieces that evoke emotion, whether it be pleasure, discomfort, or a deep sense of familiarity.
Ultimately, my hope is that those who encounter my work are moved in some way—whether subtly or profoundly.
