Tracey-Lea is a New Zealand artist working from her home studio in the Wairarapa. She’s a detail-focused pattern painter, creating bold artworks full of colour, movement, shadow and shimmer. Tracey-Lea views pattern as a visual language tied to identity, memory, place, and culture – drawing inspiration from the motifs and textures embedded in our surroundings and heavily influenced by women’s craft traditions. Her work layers intricate details to evoke recognition, nostalgia, and personal meaning. Passionate about her evolving practice and connecting with art lovers, her open studio invites visitors in for a relaxed conversation.
